Lake Taneycomo is a reservoir on the White River just below the Table Rock Lake Dam. It's created by the 1913 Powersite Dam, but it’s very river-shaped where we kayaked. The water in the lake comes from the bottom of the 200 ft Table Rock dam, so it’s always in the 50’s and stocked with trout from a fishery right below the dam. The lake is famous for rainbow and brown trout fishing. We got a late start, but we got the kayak on the water about 12:30. We put in at the boat ramp near Scotty’s Trout Dock close to Branson Landing and paddled toward the dam for about an hour, then came back. We were expecting they would be generating power which would have given us some current, but it was calm.

Allison and beautiful wildflowers.
