Buffalo National River

We drove the scenic highway 7 from Russellville to Jasper on the banks of the Little Buffalo River. Not much to see there. Then went a bit more north to the Real Buffalo River at Pruitt Landing. Not much going on here, but it is definitely scenic. The river is way too low for floating, although we heard that people had floated it last week as there was a big rain storm. All of the raft and canoe concessions are closed for the season.

On the way back, we stopped at the famous Cliff House for lunch and to enjoy the view from there. There was a hummingbird that perched on the flowers outside our window.

If all of the Buffalo looks like this, floating it must be a great trip.
