Air Force Marathon

Our son Trow ran the Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patterson AFB. He placed 71 out of the field of 1,353 with a time of 3:30:39. Not bad for the first marathon ever.

We had originally thought this marathon was in December and we wouldn't be able to be there, but we changed our plans last week to come to Dayton for this event. Trow got us in to the Family Campground on base and that cinched the deal.

The side effect is that we got to spend time in the National Museum of the Air Force. The early flying history with the Wright brothers is very well done. They have an exhibit of presidential airplanes, including a C-20B (aka: Gulfstream III). There is an app, Cockpit360, that lets you see inside the aircraft in the museum, including the Gulfstream which the museum does not have open.

One tired runner and the cheering crew.
